Meet Kathleen Keenan, a writer, photographer and storyteller. Click on the video below to see a recent tribute WGN TV aired highlighting the unique impact she has had telling the stories of hospitalized children.
Kathleen and her daughter, Beth Ryan, a senior child life specialist and head of Lekotek, a program for children with special needs, combined their experience at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago and wrote a book that pays homage to what they have learned from children. The stories are told in prose, poetry and photos and include child development tips that apply to all children. A percentage of profits from book sales will be donated to Lurie Children’s. Click here to purchase Growing Up Backwards: Lessons Learned from Children for $13.99.
